Vivek K is a highly skilled Lifting Engineer with over 9 years of experience in the heavy lift field. He possesses extensive knowledge of lift plan, design, equipment, and lifting accessories inspection, equipment calibration, engines, hydraulic/pneumatic components, project management, and team leading. Currently, he is working as a Lifting Engineer and Rigging Engineer at Al Khalij Heavy Equipment & Engineering Company, where he is leading the lifting team on-site and managing the lifting operation with coordination with the project manager and the lifting supervisor. He analyzes equipment drawings and project specifications, undertakes site surveys, and determines the required site preparations including routing, ground backfilling, and soil compaction. He is also responsible for planning and executing critical, heavy, and medium lifts, including preparation of lifting studies, drawings, calculations, method statements, and risk assessments. He defines the appropriate crane, equipment, and labor requirements for the execution of the desired lift and inspects rigging tools prior to each lift and conducts the Toolbox talk. In his previous roles, Vivek has worked as a Heavy Lift Engineer and Rigging Engineer at SBC General Trading & Contracting Company W.L.L. and as a Heavy Lift Engineer at Reliance Refinery-P&M section. He has experience in planning and executing critical, heavy, and medium lifts, supporting and promoting the implementation of the project safety, security, and quality plans, conducting load tests and third-party inspection of all lifting equipment and tools, assembling, reconfiguration, dismantling, and shifting of equipment as per requirements, and providing technical support to supervisors and foremen. Vivek holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kerala and SHM Engineering College Kollam.
