Vivek Swans is a diligent and adaptable Hardware Engineer currently working at Apple as a SoC Power Engineer. With a passion for technology, Vivek's experience as a research intern at Georgia Institute of Technology coupled with his graduate studies in Computer Engineering make him proficient in analog and digital design. He enjoys taking courses that end with challenging projects which cement his understanding of the course and enable him to work in teams. Along with completing school requirements, Vivek works 20 hours a week at a diner which has taught him how to manage time and lose sleep. During his undergraduate studies, he was voted vice-captain of the university's soccer team, which has pushed him to get in at least a few hours of outdoor activity a week. He enjoys running and testing if he can outrun himself. Vivek has worked as a Verification and Validation Intern at Rambus, where he built a complete, independent, reusable and configurable agent with a monitor, driver and sequencer using parametrized interfaces which was used for PRBS and static pattern generation and checking in multiple memory test benches. He has also coded functional coverage for a standard UVM test bench based on a verification plan and assisted in developing a UVM test bench for verification of memory subsystems using industry-standard verification tools. As a Research Intern at Georgia Institute of Technology, Vivek worked on the preliminary optimization of the design of 3-D integrated circuits for better thermal performance using Bayesian Optimization Algorithm and PowerET, an electrical and thermal simulator developed at Georgia Institute of Technology. He also researched the applications of machine learning in electronic design, designed, simulated, fabricated and tested a 4-channel high-speed digital I/O on a 4-layer PCB which supports 500 MHz signaling with minimal signal and power integrity problems. Vivek's education includes a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy. He completed his high school education in Computer Science from Sindhi High School. Vivek's technical expertise includes test, Research Scientist, P2P, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Spring, Redis, ML, Kafka, Spring Boot, Jenkins, Microservices, GCP, Integration, Mobile, Web, Java, and AngularJS.
