Vivek Patel is a final year Computer Engineering student at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhi Nagar. He has a strong passion for using software to solve practical problems and has acquired extensive skills in development. Vivek has experience in building websites and web apps for clients from various sectors and is interested in entrepreneurship. In his second year of college, he co-founded a web development company that helps small businesses and startups grow in the digital world. Vivek's specialties include front-end development and Javascript (ES6+). For most of his side projects, he uses a tech-stack consisting of React.js, Tailwind CSS, Chakra UI, Express.js, and Django. He has also worked on several projects using Ruby on Rails and Socket.io. Vivek's GitHub profile showcases his passion for coding and his expertise in different development tools. Currently, Vivek is working as a Software Engineer Intern at HackerRank. In this role, he collaborates with the team working on online code editors to extend the features and improve their performance. He has implemented terminal collaboration in web-based theia IDE with minimal latency using container-based internal WebSockets. He has also integrated a real-time comment and discussion feature in the engineering canvas diagram solution (hackerdraw.com) using React, Socket.io, and Ruby on Rails. Vivek has written theia extensions using Typescript and inversifyJS to boost users’ experience by making them high-performant. In the past, Vivek has worked as a Software Engineer Intern at 100ms, where he worked with Typescript, React.js, and StoryBook to build an app-builder for creating and deploying different categories of video conferencing applications with distinct user roles. He also wrote Dashboard Backend APIs in Django and improved the onboarding process to less than 3 seconds by designing a Data Routing system for dynamic customizable applications with Vercel’s wildcard subdomains, Django (Python), and AWS’s route 53 services. Vivek has also worked as an Executive Committee Member at Codechef PDEU Chapter, where he contributed to algo_Unlock (The Codechef Student Chapter of PDPU). Vivek is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science from Arizona State University, which he will complete in 2024.
