Vivek Pathane is an experienced Software Engineer with a specialization in Big Data and Java/J2EE application development. He is currently working as a Software Engineer III at PayPal, where he is a part of the Data Platform Engineering team. Vivek has a demonstrated history of working with various Big Data technologies such as Apache Spark, Structured Streaming, Scala, Cloudera, Hive, Core Java, Python, and Linux. He has also worked with tools like Git, BitBucket, Jira, SBT, Maven, and Jenkins. With a passion for problem-solving and quickly learning new skills and programming languages, Vivek has a strong academic background in Data Structures & Algorithms and Distributed Systems. Prior to his current role, Vivek has worked with renowned companies like Bosch and Wipro as a Senior Engineer and Senior Software Engineer respectively. During his tenure at Bosch, he developed a data streaming framework to build data ingestion pipelines for real-time processing. He also developed a utility package framework to address the small files problem in Hadoop and a batch data processing framework to flatten complex nested JSONs and store them in a data lake. At Wipro, he developed a real-time data lake framework and a web application using Restful microservices. Vivek holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from KLS Gogte Institute of Technology.
