Vivek Singh is a versatile technology professional with over 2 decades of experience in software development, product management, and software architecture. He is the Co-Founder of Samanvay Research and Development Foundation, where he creates technology products and solutions for the social/development sector. Vivek has conceived and developed two open-source products, Avni and Bahmni, which are used by close to 100 organizations/government-departments across the world. He has also led teams that developed open source products such as OpenLMIS, MOTECH, and Gunak. Prior to working in the social sector, he spent 12 years consulting for large international businesses developing technology solutions for their core business. Vivek is a hands-on developer and has created an open-source testing framework called White. He is a generalist at heart and reads extensively about technology, design, economics, business, investment, philosophy, politics, and public policy. He has a post-graduate degree in Public Policy Analysis from The Takshashila Institution. At Samanvay Research and Development Foundation, Vivek is responsible for strategy, sales, marketing, fundraising, product management, software architecture, and full-stack development. He has contributed significantly to the development of Avni, an open-source fieldwork platform used in community service and data collection projects in all sectors. He has also played a key role in the development of Gunak, a health facility quality assessment national platform, with NHSRC. In his past roles at ThoughtWorks, Vivek served as a Product Manager, Architect, and Global Health Technology Consultant. He was involved in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive health information systems for Bangalore MoH and Medicines Sans Frontiers. He also played a critical role in the development and implementation of MOTECH, a platform for integrating health systems in the state of Bihar. Vivek holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
