Vivek Tiwari is a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, currently working with the Workplace Health and Safety team under C-ops. With over 6 years of relevant experience, Vivek's work involves identifying metrics and understanding their impact to reduce workplace injuries. He is responsible for implementing safety programs for associates at hundreds of Fulfilment Centres, aiming to reduce injuries to a minimum. In addition to his regular responsibilities, Vivek is also working to optimize processes for testing, analysis of impact, measures to curb the spread, and live monitoring of the situation at Amazon's FCs during the COVID crisis. He ensures that associates remain safe while delivering excellent services to customers. Vivek is a tech enthusiast and a curious person who is always tempted by any task declared impossible. Before joining Amazon, Vivek was a Business Intelligence Engineer at the same company, where he worked on data-driven analysis to understand controllable and uncontrollable factors that lead to injuries and identified risk factors in Fulfilment Centres using data science approaches like trend analysis, statistical analysis, and regression analysis. He also worked as a Trainee Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma, where he learned to work on client business pitch and stakeholder portfolio, manage project teams, and work on technical projects, which are a mix of ML and web development to deliver complete solutions to clients. Vivek holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Information Technology from Pune Institute of Computer Technology and completed his H.S.C from K.M Agrawal College. He has a diverse tech stack, which includes software engineering, ML, NLP, Python, research scientist, web development, JavaScript, data science, search, Sagemaker, deep learning, Elastic Search, UI, and NodeJS.
