Vivek Tripathi is a seasoned product designer with over 12 years of experience in designing interactions, workflows, and evaluating usability. He is currently working as a Design Lead for Search at LinkedIn, where he is leading the redesign of the entire LinkedIn search on all platforms. He is also working on typeahead, filters, and overall search strategy as a staff-level individual contributor. Vivek is a complete user experience professional with an academic background in HCI and usability. He is passionate about creating a usable, engaging, and beautiful user experience. He believes that the best designs are created when the designer empathizes with users, understands the qualitative and quantitative aspects of their behavior, and uses that understanding to come out with innovative solutions that cater to users as well as support the business goals. Apart from working as a designer, Vivek has also taken the responsibility of a product manager, data analyst, and web developer many times. He has learned the art of building great products from all perspectives. Vivek has been a part of a successful startup, where he has tried and tested his ideas, skills, and expertise with millions of users worldwide. Vivek has worked on various projects during his tenure at LinkedIn, including designing a completely novel onboarding platform for new users, designing a LinkedIn to member communication design framework, designing a gamification platform for profile completion, and redesigning the entire accounts experience, including signup, signin, password reset, and other important account verification flows. Vivek has a Bachelor of Design degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction. He has a strong tech stack, which includes designer, search, research scientist, web, product designer, and product manager.
