Wael Rabadi is a highly experienced Staff Solutions Architect currently working at VMware. With over 20 years of hands-on experience in the development and management of large enterprise systems, Wael is a thought leader and technical advisor who transcends software development teams to deliver modern, cloud-native products that excel in business speed to market and agility. He has a refreshed learning attitude about modern, cloud-native distributed systems while maintaining hands-on knowledge and practice to implementing solutions that cater to mobile and web applications integrated by secure and scalable APIs, modern data architectures atop a modern cloud platform. At VMware, Wael works closely with customer engineers, architects, and product owners to develop and/or modernize software using Tanzu Labs software development practices that consist of XP (pair programming), User-Centered Design, and Lean Management techniques that thrive on Tanzu platform. He enables customers by teaching pairs how to do the above for themselves. Wael manages risk and uncertainty while moving the team forward, provides technical leadership and direction to customer engagements, facilitates group events, contributes back to VMware Tanzu Lab's engineering practice through mentorship, giving talks, and experience reports, develops product backlogs and roadmaps, and meets with existing and prospective customers to assist sales efforts. Wael has worked with several other companies in the past, including Pivotal Software, Inc. and CBRE Global Investors, where he held the positions of Advisory Solutions Architect and Senior Principal Software Engineer/Lead, respectively. At CBRE Global Investors, he was the technical lead for the delivery of a modern cloud-native data platform and analytical dashboard to support the business unit. The technology stack consisted primarily of open-source software (OSS), including Golang, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, and Angular 5, with deployment targeted at Apache Mesos, Marathon, and Chronos on top of the AWS Cloud, and modern ETL using Golang and microservice architecture. Wael holds an MBA in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Azusa Pacific University, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, and an Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University. He is skilled in several technologies, including Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Blockchain, Microservices, Mobile, Web, SQL, AWS, Golang, ETL, NodeJS, and AngularJS.
