Wayne Su is a GIS researcher-turned-software engineer with a passion for designing fully-fledged projects while paying close attention to user experience. He has successfully transitioned into software engineering after realizing the limitations of product usability, reach, and developing skills in academic work. Wayne is currently working as a Frontend Engineer at Jetfuel and has previously worked as an Adjunct Research Fellow at Spatial and Environmental Technology Foundation and as a Freelance Web Developer. Wayne's education history includes a Full Stack Web Development degree from App Academy, a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from National Taiwan University. He has a tech stack that includes Frontend, Javascript, Software Engineering, Research Scientist, Ruby, PHP, Redux, Product Manager, NodeJS, and ReactJS. Wayne has built projects using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, adopted PHP and Node.js to incorporate dynamic content, and applied WordPress as a content management system. He has also been utilizing frameworks such as React.js with Redux, Bootstrap, Ruby on Rails, and Express.js. Currently, Wayne is actively learning Gatsby.js and Rust to take blazingly fast performances to a whole new level. Wayne is super passionate about innovative concepts amongst their real-world applications and is always striving to craft projects that are user-experience-driven, practical, and optimized, while also responsive and elegant in design.
