Wei Peng is an accomplished Software Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He currently works at Google as a Software Engineer where he is responsible for improving web answers performance in the search quality team. Wei is a Ph.D. graduate specialized in Data Mining, Information Retrieval, and Machine Learning. He has published 32 papers in prestigious conferences and journals such as SIGKDD, CIKM, SIGIR, ECML, ICWSM, etc. and has 11 US patents with 6 pending patent applications. Wei has extensive experience in managing teams and has supervised 7 interns while managing the team "Social Engagement, Analytics, and Management" of over 10 people across different Xerox research and development centers in Europe, India, and the US. He delivered an intelligent social media monitoring and engagement platform to groups across several lines of business including Customer Care, Marketing Services, and Financial Services. He has also received $130,000 UAC and XTIN funding to collaborate with universities on “Location-based Social Media for Context-based Analysis of Transportation” and “Social Media Analytics.” Wei's technical skills include Java, MySQL, C#, Python, Hadoop, and Matlab, and he is knowledgeable in C, C++, Javascript, HBase, and SqlServer.
