Wenhui Yao is a seasoned software engineer with over 11 years of experience in Android development and UI design. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Patreon, Wenhui has previously worked with companies like Meta and Trulia in leadership positions. At Meta, Wenhui was the Android technical lead of Instagram Boards, where she implemented most of the core functionalities, including boards UI rendering, boards network layer, communication of creative tools to boards UI layer, and a coordinate system that supports infinite scroll on a board. She was also responsible for the Android technical lead of Instagram Threads App, where she led the development of Threads App home screen revamp, and migrated Boards from Threads App to IG. She was responsible for most of Threads App's smooth navigation. At Trulia, Wenhui was a Staff Engineer and was responsible for setting up core themes and styles for the new Trulia brand. She also refactored and re-implemented Trulia search screen on Android using MVP, Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, to make the codebase modular, testable, and scalable. She wrote extensive unit tests covering the presenter and model layer. Wenhui is an Android developer and Kotlin enthusiast who has worked on several personal projects that can be found on her Github account. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from San Francisco State University.
