Wenson Tsai is an innovative engineering leader with over 8 years of experience in building and managing teams across the software space. He specializes in creative industries and empowering makers, specifically in 3D printing and music. Currently, he is the Engineering Manager of Music Asset Distribution at tunecore, where he works with squads responsible for core initiatives such as distribution pipelines and new features for releasing music on various platforms like Spotify, TikTok, Apple Music/iTunes, YouTube/Google, Instagram/Facebook, and more. Prior to tunecore, Wenson worked as the Engineering Manager of Search NYC at alphasense, where he built out the NYC Engineering presence, coached and grew cross-functional engineers, integrated engineering and AI research/machine learning initiatives, scaled the global culture and process, and utilized various technologies such as Java, Solr, Python, SpaCy, PyTorch, GraphQL, Typescript, React, Kubernetes, and Terraform. He also worked as the Engineering Manager of Print Applications at makerbot, where he built software teams, led, mentored, and coached teams directly affecting hardware performance and final user experience, proposed and led initiatives to bring "MakerBot Print" to the cloud as an integrated web app, and created the default support structure algorithm, "Tapered Morphing Supports". Wenson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Technology and Globalization, Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Arts in Sociology in Japan from The University of Sheffield, and completed Computer Science, Software Engineering, Agile Iteration/Startup Methodology courses at Fullstack Academy of Code. He is well-versed in various technologies such as Terraform, AI, Search, Kubernetes, Typescript, ML, Research Scientist, Pytorch, Python, Java, and Web.
