William is a passionate advocate of open-source tooling for search and helping organizations get their data into OpenSearch. Previously, William led the tech team at Stella Connect, which achieved a successful $100M+ exit. He is known for his ability to help engineers achieve the impossible, efficiently. William has also co-founded AllTheRooms.com, which was once the world's most complete accommodations search engine and is now a data source in the accommodations industry. Before entering the travel and tech industry, William had a background in civil rights, leadership training, and social justice. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Physics from Colgate University. He also attended Lely High School. William's strengths extend beyond technology leadership. He has expertise in community organizing, cybersecurity, travel, GDPR, and privacy compliance. He earned the nickname "The General" during his tenure as Director of Innovation at lastminute.com, the UK's most well-known internet success and formerly Travelocity's European brand. As the Founder and CTO of Provable Privacy, William developed a technology solution for SaaS companies to process tokenized data using in-country proxies running in trusted execution environments. He is also an agile proponent and champion of several high-leverage engineering practices, such as CI/CD. William has incubated new products and disruptive business models with the aim of fundamentally transforming lastminute.com and generating millions in additional revenue. William's tech stack includes AWS, search, senior software engineering, and web development. He has given several speeches and interviews, including "Only Do WOW! Projects" and "Your Data is Crap." William is a dynamic professional with a diverse skill set, making him a valuable asset to any organization.
