William Main is a highly skilled full-stack software engineer with a focus on frontend development. With over 8 years of relevant experience, he is known for his ability to tackle complex and difficult projects at scale. Currently, he serves as a Senior Software Engineer at Netflix, where he leads Lumen, a critical dashboarding tool within the Observability Platform team. William has a proven track record of delivering high-impact projects and is particularly interested in challenges related to frontend infrastructure and architecture. He has worked with several companies, including Airbnb and Spongecell, where he has demonstrated his expertise in software engineering, frontend development, Typescript, P2P, infrastructure, Javascript, Redux, and web integration. At Airbnb, William led a team of six engineers for Quick Pay v2 on web, a React/Redux library written in Typescript that enabled Airbnb BUs to build rich, composable payments experiences such as checkouts and credit card vaulting. He also architected and launched Settle Up, Airbnb's first P2P money transfer offering. Additionally, he proposed and led the Payments org.'s migration from JavaScript to TypeScript and founded the Payments Front End Working Group, responsible for driving initiatives related to front end technical excellence within the Payments org.
