William Wang is a highly motivated and talented individual with a passion for software engineering and research. Currently, he is an incoming Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft, where he previously worked as a Software Engineering Intern (Explore) on the Managed Desktop Team. During his time at Microsoft, William was responsible for engineering an analytics and performance-indicator dashboard for executives on CMD/MMD. He programmed with frontend technologies and data warehouse languages such as SQL and Kusto, gauged scaling, and modeled SRS documents for software lifecycle. He also mediated ideas between software engineers, program managers, and the leadership team to implement the dashboard into executive workflow. Prior to his work at Microsoft, William was a Research Analyst at the Financial Economics Institute, where he worked under Prof. De Pace of Pomona College. He investigated the tail-end dependencies of cryptocurrencies and their relationship with other equities and global assets. Using MatLab and Microsoft Excel, William built financial models that represent how volatile growths of crypto-markets affect one another and potential risk-based portfolio shortfall. William is a recent graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Engineering (Computer Science). He also studied Computer Science at Harvey Mudd College and attended Tesla STEM High School. William's technical skills include software engineering, SQL, data warehouse, frontend, and research science. With 0.36 years of relevant experience, William is a highly driven individual with a strong work ethic and a dedication to achieving excellence in all of his endeavors.
