Winston Tri is a Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at albedo, where he is currently working on building a constellation of satellites that will capture both visible and thermal imagery at a resolution 9x higher than what exists today. With over 6 years of relevant experience, Winston has a strong background in software engineering, backend development, iOS development, and UI design. Prior to his current role, Winston worked as a software engineer at Facebook Connectivity's Advanced Network Planning team, where he worked on bringing fast, reliable internet to underserved and unconnected communities. He worked with a range of GIS data, including LiDAR data, digital elevation models, and satellite imagery, and used this data to write novel algorithms to plan, reduce the cost, and improve the speed of network deployment. Winston also has experience as an iOS and backend developer at bthere llc, where he assisted in the development of a production-ready mobile app using Swift 3, Node.Js, XMPP, MongoDB, and other technologies. He collaborated with designers to construct UI/UX flow and implemented minor bug-fixes, small feature adjustments, and total unit test coverage. Winston holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is skilled in software engineering, backend development, iOS development, testing, JavaScript, MongoDB, mobile development, UI design, and NodeJS.
