Xiaoran Zhan is an experienced Software Engineer currently working at VMware as a Member of Technical Staff. With a career spanning over 7 years, Xiaoran has developed a strong expertise in Kubernetes, Android, and PHP. At VMware, Xiaoran is working on PKS (Pivotal Container Service), where she is responsible for providing the enterprise version of Kubernetes. She is highly skilled in developing and deploying containerized applications, and is well-versed in the latest industry trends and best practices. Prior to joining VMware, Xiaoran worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Wayfair, where she gained valuable experience in product catalog management. During her time at Wayfair, Xiaoran developed a Product Collection Management page using PHP, HTML, and JavaScript. She also developed a Product Matching Page that dealt with newly added products that may have potential duplicates with existing ones, using .NET, WPF, and C#, applying MVC framework, increasing the robustness and extensibility. Xiaoran also participated in a Hackathon and built an Android app of subway alert, which won the "Most Useful App." Xiaoran holds a Master's degree in Language Technology Institute from Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied Machine Learning, Big Data, and Biotechnology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering from Wuhan University. In addition to her technical skills, Xiaoran is a strong communicator and collaborator. She is passionate about her work and is always looking for ways to improve her skills and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies.
