Yan Li is a Senior Software Engineer - UI at Adobe with over 9 years of relevant experience in front-end software engineering. Yan is passionate about building complex, interactive web experiences for users and is always striving for code cleanliness, maintainability, and enjoyable user experiences. With a background in UX/UI design, Yan has developed and maintained web applications/experiences on different frameworks, libraries, and technologies including React, Redux, Cypress, Jest, GraphQL, Typescript, and Node/Express. Currently, Yan works on the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)/Audience Manager (AAM) team, where she refactored Audience Manager OAuth service on AWS Lambdas to use Express.js + Passport.js, which streamlines support of future platform integrations with AAM's People-Based Destinations (feature). She is also delivering features with full E2E Jest and Cypress tests, fully accessible and localized. Additionally, Yan is developing/maintaining shareable modules, making their UI more consistent across codebases, mentoring junior developers, and standardizing the front-end interview process. She is outlining/implementing best practices as the team scales, such as writing re-usable components/modules, enforcing CHANGELOGs, semver usage for node module publishing, etc. In the past, Yan has worked as a Software Engineer - Front-End at Intent Media Inc. and as a Front-End Engineer at Philosophie Group Inc. At Intent Media Inc., Yan built and re-designed IM’s internal multivariate testing platform in React/Flux/Node from scratch. She also improved CSS development standards by implementing CSS linting, autoprefixing, and optimizing/refactoring CSS, creating and enforcing a style guide for the front-end practice. At Philosophie Group Inc., Yan built and developed front-end prototypes, landing pages, responsive websites, and web apps for a variety of clients from startups to large organizations. Yan holds a Mini-Masters Certificate in User Experience Design from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Information Technology and Informatics from Rutgers University. She also studied Japanese Language and Literature at Ritsumeikan University as part of the Study in Kyoto Program.
