Yang Song is a highly experienced Tech Lead at Airbnb, with a strong background in software engineering. With a career spanning over 7 years, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the tech industry, including Microsoft and Facebook. At Airbnb, Yang currently serves as a Software Engineer Technical Lead, working in the Payment Risk team. He leads a team working on various areas to defend fraud for Airbnb and deal with chargebacks. He is also responsible for leading the team to make Airbnb payments comply with EEA PSD2 regulation and has been a major contributor to the Payments online transactional integrity check service. Prior to joining Airbnb, Yang worked as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, where he led the SharePoint Provision Team. He was the project lead in one drive for business orphan detector, built an orphan detector used in one drive cleaning and built SharePoint tenant quota refresh service which supports auto tenant quota refresh. He also worked as a Software Engineer at Facebook, where he was a part of the Timeline backend team. He designed and built a ranking framework used by feature photo in user profile, which received over 20k click rates when the product was released to 1% users. Yang has a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineer Technology/Technician from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He is also an alumnus of The Affiliated High School of South China Normal University.
