Yannis Mallios is an experienced Software Engineer and Research Scientist currently working at Google. With almost 16 years of relevant experience, he has a strong background in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Information Security Technology, and Management. Yannis completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in 2016, where he also earned his Master of Science (MS) in the same field in 2013. He holds another MS degree in Information Security Technology and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, which he completed in 2009. Yannis obtained his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Informatics from Athens University of Economics and Business in 2005. Prior to joining Google, Yannis worked as a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University's CyLab, where he investigated the theory and practice of monitoring software to enforce security and privacy policies at runtime. He also studied formal models of enforcement mechanisms and designed and implemented languages and systems for specifying and enforcing runtime-security policies. Yannis also worked as a Research Assistant at Athens University of Economics and Business, where he researched Spam problems in Internet Telephony and participated in several projects as a Security Risk Analysis and Management consultant. Yannis possesses a diverse TechStack, which includes Software Engineering and Research Science. He has a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in his field. With his extensive experience and education, he has developed a deep understanding of the latest technologies and trends in his industry.
