Yash Gupta is a self-motivated and experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in Image processing, NLP, and Deep Learning. Currently, he is working as a Data Scientist at Walmart Global Tech India, Marketplace, where he is involved in Email Intent Classification for 3rd party sellers on Walmart Marketplace to automate reply to emails using SOTA transformers and applied NLP techniques to overcome low labelled data using augmentation. Yash has also researched novel techniques for email intent mining and wrote a paper that was published in Spark Tech Summit. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Yash has worked with various organizations, including Antuit and Medibox. At Antuit, he led and designed a recommender system for a US food retail chain with more than 10M customers, generating 4X incremental sales between Test vs Control. He also optimized the data pipeline on Azure with incremental loads using Pyspark along with Delta Lake, reducing the load time from 10 hours to 40 minutes. Moreover, he designed a demand allocation optimization engine using Pyomo for a US-based retailer, reducing product markdowns and saving 20% expenses in the supply chain. At Medibox, Yash worked as a Machine Learning Engineer and automated product mapping using NLP techniques of attribute extraction and mapping. He also created word embedding from the names and attributes using a CNN-based similarity approach ensembled with Bi-RNN. Yash achieved an improved accuracy of the model by using new attributes of the products by 93%. Additionally, he worked on image-based search for medicine using Computer Vision Densenet BC arch + OCR, providing 80% AUC. Yash has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University. He also completed his X from Little Flower Public School and XII, ISC from St. Paul's English School.
