Yash Jain is a Lead Engineer at Samsung with over 6 years of relevant experience in the field of Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering. He has a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. In his current role, Yash is responsible for 5G gNodeB MAC Scheduler Software Development. He has designed and developed several features for NR gNodeB L2 Layer, including Copycell and DL Path Selection, Uplink Maximal Ratio Combining, Sounding Reference Signal, and DL Massive MIMO. He has full ownership of Copycell and DL Path Selection and has worked in collaboration with his team for the other features. Yash has previously worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer at Samsung. He was involved in the implementation of TMO specific features in Qualcomm chipset code for NSA mode and bug fixing for lab/field issues. He has also worked on the world's first commercial 5G device, Trial CPE, as a Software Engineer. He has hands-on experience on Samsung Shannon chipset code used for this product for control plane utilizing flow understanding of signaling and data path from application layer to MAC layer, successfully launched in US, completing Research to Market cycle. Yash has a strong understanding of Product Development Lifecycle and Software Development Lifecycle. He has coordinated with cross-functional and cross-continent teams and collaborated with baseband vendors like Qualcomm, Ericsson, and Korean operators like SKT, KT. He has also travelled to TMO office in the USA, verified working of features such as CA, DTX, Beamforming, working on different NR bands.
