Yash Sanghvi is a tech enthusiast and IoT developer with over 5 years of relevant experience. Currently, he works as the Lead Data Scientist at Carnot Technologies, where he is responsible for solving several intriguing problems, including automatic detection of farm patches from telematics data, estimation of the tractor-buying tendency of farmers based on their tractor-usage profiles and geo footprint, and anomaly detection in the device data to flag off faulty devices and partially automate the CMS process. Yash has extensive experience in using available ML/DL and statistical models for solving problems, but he prefers the first-principles approach when formulating the solution. He is skilled in several compute and storage services of both AWS and Azure and has overseen the creation of data pipelines and processes that have helped build Carnot's vast data lake. Before foraying into Data Science, Yash worked on other IoT stacks, including firmware and backend, and has some exposure to hardware and frontend. He led the Electrical Subsystem (Power and Onboard Computer) for the Pratham satellite project during his undergrad, which was launched in 2016 onboard ISRO's PSLV C-35 and took IIT Bombay into the space age. Apart from working on technology, Yash also likes to write about it and has a Medium blog with many of his writings. He simplifies tech jargon using analogies and examples and answers tech questions to which he himself did not find a straightforward answer on Google. Yash has previously worked as a Senior Firmware Developer at Carnot Technologies and as a Research Associate in the Cyber Systems Engineering and Analytics Group at NCAIR. He has a Dual Degree (B. Tech + M. Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and has also studied at Kishinchand Chellaram College of Arts Commerce and Science. Yash's tech stack includes Data Science, Deep Learning, ML, AWS, Research Scientist, Backend, Azure, and Frontend. He is always curious to learn newer technologies and concepts and is open to discussions related to IoT, data science, firmware, cloud computing/storage, or technology in general.
