Yoon Park is a Principal UX Designer at Microsoft, currently leading the design effort on the developer and creator ecosystem experience for HoloLens and Mixed Reality. With over 13 years of relevant experience, Yoon has a strong background in design and technology, which enables him to integrate and realize the design vision by polishing visual and interaction design of the controls, creating example scenes that demonstrate the building blocks, submitting/reviewing/merging pull requests on GitHub, and writing design & development guidelines. At the Mixed Reality Design team, Yoon is responsible for working closely with the engineering and research team to build and share the building blocks of the common spatial interaction patterns and UI controls for HoloLens. He is also leading open-source projects such as Mixed Reality Toolkit (MRTK) and Mixed Reality Design Labs (MRDL), developing design guidelines on Windows Dev Center, creating common UX building blocks & sample apps, and engaging with the developer community and partner companies. Yoon has previously worked at Microsoft as a Senior UX Designer on the Developer Experience Design Team, Windows and Devices Group (WDG), where he led the design effort for Windows Bridge for iOS (project Islandwood), focusing on the UX translation between iOS and Windows. He also worked as a Senior UX Designer on the Information and Content Experience Design, Applications and Services Group (ASG), where he led the common UX framework design for Bing/MSN apps, including News, Sports, Money, Weather, Travel, Health & Fitness, Food & Drink. Yoon holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Design & Technology from Parsons School of Design - The New School, and a Bachelor's Degree of Engineering from Korea University, School of Electrical Engineering. He also studied Visual Communication Design at Samsung Art & Design Institute. Yoon's tech stack includes designer, Research Scientist, iOS, UI, test, product manager, Android, and Web.
