Zhiwei Xin is a highly skilled and motivated software engineer with a Master's degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. With over 6 years of relevant experience, Zhiwei has developed expertise in a wide range of areas including Information Retrieval, Computer Systems, Website Development, Android Development, Machine Learning, Data Structures, and Algorithms. Currently working as a Software Engineer at Google, Zhiwei has previously worked at Microsoft and Veritas in similar roles. At Veritas, he was responsible for implementing Universal/DB Shares frontend with AngularJS and backend APIs with Spring. He also developed a RPM solution for the new help document deployment based on Nginx and reduced 200 MB in ISO. Zhiwei built infrastructure for integrating test infrastructure with Docker and integrated with Jenkins. He implemented resize functionality for storage module inside the docker container to enable the disk pool to expand across multiple file systems. He finished network zero-configuration for the new platform by using Avahi/ansible. Zhiwei implemented network configuration Rest API’s in the network module based on the zero configuration and Ansible. He also refactored test cases in the storage pipeline and reduced 33% running time and won a Level 4 Employee Award. Zhiwei's education background includes a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Southeast University. He has a strong technical skill set that includes Software Engineering, Information Retrieval, Android, Spring, Machine Learning, Ansible, testing, Docker, infrastructure, Jenkins, Frontend, and Backend.
